Lendlease returns to Manchester with Potato Wharf

New collection of canal-side living in Castlefield of interest to Singapore investors


​SINGAPORE, 30 August, 2017 – Lendlease has launched the final and highly anticipated phase of Potato Wharf, situated in the heart of Manchester’s historic Castlefield district. The new collection introduces 191 new one and two-bedroom apartments in an architecturally rich, canal-side setting, presenting a rare opportunity to buy in the UK’s second largest city. 

JLL has been appointed sole marketing agents on this scheme as Singapore real estate investors are considering property in the UK, as they look further out of London for stronger returns. According to JLL’s residential research piece, Why Manchester​ (Autumn 2017), capital growth forecast for 2017 to 2021 is 28.2% - the highest in the UK. Rental growth forecast for 2017 to 2021 is 20.5%.

Potato Wharf is surrounded by the Castlefield conservation area, featuring Victorian infrastructure and Roman ruins alongside characterful warehouse architecture lining the iconic canal ways. Renowned for its appealing village atmosphere in the heart of the city, the district boasts a host of Manchester’s celebrated museums, galleries and cultural sites, including the Museum of Science and Industry and the Castlefield Urban Heritage Park next door.
