World’s first hotel residences in the Maldives available for individual foreign ownership

12 Blues Resort & Spa, Maldives to launch in London, Hong Kong and Singapore


Singapore, 11 October 2010 – 12 Blues Resort & Spa, the world’s first hotel residences development in the Maldives to offer individual foreign ownership will be launched for sale in London, Hong Kong and Singapore in November and December 2010.
 
12 Blues Resort & Spa offers investors a rare opportunity to acquire an asset on an exclusive private island hideaway.  Warm crystal blue lagoons shimmer in hues of blue surrounded by impeccable powder white beaches unlike any place on earth. Lundhufushi Holdings Pvt Ltd (LHD), the consortium and development arm of 12 Blues Hotels & Resorts have with the valued support and assistance of the Government of Maldives have conceptualised the first hotel residences development for individual foreign ownership. In collaboration with award winning Singapore based architect firm Eco-Id, the development will push architectural boundaries and creativity to new heights to achieve an intelligently engineered, eco compliant resort of stand alone quality.
 
Founder and CEO of 12 Blues Resort & Spa, Sagheer Mohammed says that the 12 Blues Hotel brand will be a brand of no rivals, and his hotels will be third millennium products for the most seasoned of guests that have ‘an unmistakable awareness’ of their surroundings.
 
“12 Blues will be an enchanting hideaway. It is the most spiritually evolved hotel fusing the most intimate service between hotel and guest. I was driven by the desire to create an intelligent hotel management system that caters for the most spirited guest with a passion for life and culture, those who look for perfection in everything around them. 12 Blues Resort will be refreshingly different without compromising on luxury.
 
We are also pleased that this is the first time you can privately own a villa on a resort in the Maldives” added Mr. Mohammed.

On completion, the cost of accommodation at 12 Blues Resort & Spa is expected to be in the region of US$2,000 per night. The revenue model lends itself towards a  return of capital in approximately seven years, then moving towards an ongoing revenue stream for the owner that far surpasses other tropical locations such as Thailand or Mauritius” added Ms Wong.
 
Located in Raa Atoll in the Indian Ocean, 12 Blues is just a 35 minute seaplane journey north of Male, the capital of Maldives. Known by locals as Lundhufushi, the island is a 10 acre teardrop shaped coral island with over two kilometers of untouched pristine beachfront.
 
Featuring innovative architecture, 12 Blues Resort & Spa will comprise of 33 water villas and 7 beach villas. Set amidst arabesque courtyards and inviting fountains, the main precept of the design was to achieve unity and oneness with nature through the use of geometry. The elegance in design is evidenced in every concept and detail and most befitting of the hotels tag line as ‘the most spiritually evolved hotel in the world’.
 
The water villas are unlike anything in the Maldives. Inspired by Moroccan lanterns floating on water, the 3,820 sq ft villas are among some of the largest in the Maldives. Ingenious glass doors slide open to reveal beautiful hardwood decks housing a 957 sq ft infinity pool and a hot tub that sits at the oceans edge with undisturbed views of the Indian Ocean. The bedroom feature polished limestone with intricate arabesque finishes.
 
The grand 4,983 sq ft beach villa share all the features of the water villa but is further enhanced by a private beach, in-room spa treatment beds, a luxurious yoga pavilion and beautifully manicured fountain garden.
 
A truly luxurious destination, 12 Blues Resort & Spa will feature many food and beverage options from tapas bars, sushi counters to fine dining. An abundance of water and outdoor activities, magnificent spa and wellness facilities and regular cultural activities.

The selling price of the villas starts from USD 1.855 million.
Jones Lang LaSalle Residential Singapore will be handling the exclusive launch events in London, Hong Kong and Singapore.  In addition Lundhufushi Holdings Pvt Ltd (LHD) have appointed leading international law firm Pinsent Masons LLP (Global Construction law Firm of the Year 2008-2010) to advise on all aspects of the project development.
