Richard Bloxam

CEO, Capital Markets

Richard takes overall responsibility for how the firm helps investors and real estate owners develop and execute investment strategies ranging from the transaction of individual assets and portfolios to investment banking and corporate finance services.

His chief ambition is to help investors optimize their exposure to real estate through innovative investment models, world class investment advice and the creative application of technology.

Since joining JLL in 1994, Richard has worked across the capital markets business. Richard has specialized throughout his career on supporting international investors pursuing opportunities outside their domestic markets.

Richard, currently based in London, has held leadership roles across Europe. After spending his first four years at JLL in the U.K, he packed his bags for stints in Poland, Hungary and Austria, where he focused on the retail sector. Richard is a German speaker, which he refined while teaching English in Austria and Germany during the early 1990s.

During the last decade Richard has focussed on broadening JLL’s capital markets business to offer bespoke financial advice in addition to the firm’s strengths in advising clients in the acquisition and sale of real estate assets. In 2008, Richard took up responsibility for capital markets across EMEA and joined the EMEA Management Board in 2014. He started his current role in January 2017.

Richard has studied at the University of Exeter, London South Bank University, and Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. When not taking care of his four children, Richard enjoys a wide variety of sports. He is also a musician with a passion for the piano and guitar, and from time to time can be heard playing in a band on keyboard and vocals.
