Speakers
Mr. Jing Dong Lai
Head of Acquisitions, APAC, Head of Japan, M&G Real Estate Asia Pte. Ltd.
He oversees all business’s acquisition activities including sourcing and executing both on and off market transactions across its core Asia markets. He has more than 18 years of Asia real estate markets experience, working in a number of the region’s financial hubs including Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Prior to joining M&G, he was Director & Head of Investments at Straits Real Estate, where he managed an Asia Pacific investment mandate across multiple asset classes including office, retail and residential. Other roles include senior positions at Goldman Sachs’ real estate principal investment area (REPIA) in Japan and Singapore, and Carlyle Asia Real Estate Partners in Hong Kong. He started his career as an analyst in the International Principal Finance Group of Shinsei Bank, focusing on acquisition of non-performing loan portfolios. JD graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University with a B.A. in Economics and International Relations.
Mr. Ken Chan
CEO/CIO, Patience Capital Group KK
Ken was GIC Japan’s Country Head, where he looked after Real Estate, Integrated Strategies and Value Add investments. Over his 19 year career with GIC, Ken led the Japan team, building up a core portfolio of real estate assets across office, residential, retail, logistics and hospitality sectors, in addition to assisting GIC with its other investments in equities, private equities and infrastructure. Ken’s vast network in Japan and Asia also helped GIC establish a strong brand name and build up investments in various financial assets across different industries. Ken also sits on the board of directors for Christel Vie Ensemble, is co chairperson for LIVES Tokyo, advisory board member to Asian Cultural Council Japan and was also the former ULI Japan Vice Chairman. Ken graduated Order of Troy receiving a BSc in Business from University of Southern California. Ken is the founder, CEO and CIO of Patience Capital Group.
