SINGAPORE, 24 February 2022 – Global real estate firm JLL has brought to life its vision of the workplace of tomorrow with the opening of its new Singapore office at CapitaSpring, a 51-storey skyscraper located in the Central Business District (CBD).

Spanning 23,592 sq ft across the building’s 35th floor, JLL Singapore’s new office – a move after 24 years from its present location in Republic Plaza – features a mix of flexible, tech-enabled collaboration spaces and energising, wellbeing-led experiences to complement today’s new ways of working.

“Despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic, we continue to see strong overall demand for Grade A office spaces in the CBD with demand set to outpace supply in 2022. Our Singapore office’s move to CapitaSpring not only reflects this trend but allows us to showcase our expertise in designing innovative, efficient and sustainable workspaces that keep employees engaged and agile,” says Chris Archibold, Country Head, JLL Singapore.

Leveraging technology for seamless collaboration

Embracing today’s hybrid work landscape, JLL Singapore’s next-generation office features more than 15 types of flexible work settings for employees to choose from – including adjustable ‘sit-stand’ desks, hybrid meeting rooms and collaboration zones.

The space also houses a first-of-its-kind Media Room fitted with screens, cameras and modular furniture to facilitate filming, livestreaming as well as the development of multimedia content. To elevate client experiences and enable seamless cross-market collaboration, an all-new state-of-the-art NXT Presentation Suite was built and fitted with large-screen panels that allows for interactive showcases and virtual site visits to selected offices in the market. When not in use, the Presentation Suite doubles up as a vibrant space for internal and external events and gatherings set against the stunning backdrop of Marina Bay.

Putting employee wellness at the heart of the workplace

The new JLL Singapore office also employs human-centric design across all touchpoints. According to JLL’s Regenerative Workplace research, more than one third of employees today feel disenchanted – suggesting that employers need to take a holistic approach to health and wellbeing to help employees feel energised and supported at the workplace.

With this in mind, JLL Singapore’s CapitaSpring office is designed to cultivate a sense of community and boost energy levels through dedicated spaces for its over-170 staff to socialise along with amenities such as a barista-hosted coffee bar and beer tap. From a wellness perspective, the office is also fitted with an air purification system that monitors the air quality in real-time with proactive settings in place to maintain clean air throughout the workspace. These features align to the Platinum WELL certification standards set by the International Well Building Institute.

Incorporating sustainability across the workplace

Sustainability is a recurring theme across all aspects of JLL Singapore’s new office. As a Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Green Mark Platinum Award recipient, CapitaSpring is built with sustainability in mind – with biophilic features such as a 35-metre-tall Green Oasis and a rooftop Sky Garden housing Singapore’s tallest urban farm.

Within the office, floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to enter the workspace, with automated light sensors in place to further conserve energy. JLL Singapore’s office also features a Green Moss wall and over 200 plants to enhance wellness and support employee ambitions for sustainable living.

Darren Battle, Head of Corporate Real Estate and Workplace, JLL Asia Pacific, comments: “Today, the office remains a primary place of work for most employees and a core part of social collaboration and professional interaction. Our reimagined workplace at CapitaSpring demonstrates our vision of a futuristic and sustainable office that can improve productivity and collaboration, but also boost employee health and wellbeing.”
